“STAMP” OF APPROVAL

They’re here! They’re here! (I kind of sound like Paul Revere.)

Yes, the U.S. Postal Service has officially launched Animal Rescue postage stamps in a nationwide campaign to raise awareness to “Adopt a Shelter Pet”. The stamp designs are shown below. You can event scroll through all ten different stamps to “meet” each pet in the campaign. You’ll meet Willow the Maltese (yek – cats) and Trevor the Lab. I feel like I know them already.

This is great for pet owners and animal lovers who can’t have a pet right now. You can help dogs and cats in need even if you don’t adopt right now. This is how it works. You simply purchase the stamps and the HALO advocacy group, co-owned by Ellen DeGeneres, will buy food for 1 million shelter pets. In fact, there’s a little ‘meal-o-meter’ on the left of the screen that shows HALO has already purchased over $500,000 worth of food. This program definitely gets my stamp of approval.

This offer gets even better, you don’t have to leave your home to help. Simply go to this hyperlink http://stampstotherescue.com/thestamps.asp and you can purchase the stamps online. Imagine

Okay, here’s the question of the day from Twig who asked: What is it about humans that they forget how hot it is in the summer? Please remind your readers NOT TO LEAVE US IN HOT CARS!

Dear Twig:
It’s funny you should be writing in about the summer heat. I remember a story about a little Koala bear that was so thirsty he accepted water from bikers in Australia. (See photos below.)

Now listen up humans. If you think it’s hot outside during an Australian summer, imagine how hot it is in a car during a U.S. summer. Please be sure your pets have plenty of water at home and don’t leave them in hot places without proper ventilation.
